1.) Can I order the actually Planetensuche version / updates as CD to home, instead to download this from http://www.marfir.de?
Yes, this is possible. Please send me an E-Mail with your name and address. You must only payed the forwarding and packaging costs.

2.) There is a light version of Planetensuche?
Yes, there are a Planetensuche basic version (without pictures). Other differents are not given.

3.) Why were registration all Planetensuche installations, although it's a freeware program?
I use the registration for counting of all Planetensuche installations, because of this I can to appraise how many users my program have and if a further development are worth. While the automatic registration process no data were send. How you can see, only a simple counter were used.

4.) Can I used the pictures and the notes also for other use cases?
The pictures and notes are subject the copyright and because of this you can only use them for private use cases. It's forbidden to trading with the pictures / notes or to published under other author name (see license). If you like to use the pictures / notes for non-private use cases (for example a lecture), please send me an E-Mail, with the reason / use case. I / the author maybe can allow this.

5.) I don't know about my computer hardware. Where can I get some information's?
The next description is for MS Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000 and XP, if you logged in as an administrator:
First please click on „Start“ and then on „Settings“ – „System control“. Into the open window please click on „System“. Now you can see:
the installed operating system
the name and maybe the company, for which the operating system is registered
the processor type and MHz / GHz
the RAM (main memory) in KB or MB (1024 KB = 1 MB)

Now close the window („System“) and click into the „System control“ on „Anzeige“. Then choose the mask „Settings“. In the open window you can see:
the used colors in Bit (16 or 256 Colors; 16, 24 or 32 Bit)
the used resolution in pixel (for example 1024x768)

Then you can show how many hard disk space is free if you open the Windows Explorer. There please click on the hard disk drive (for example C: ) and view the properties, where you like to install Planetensuche. Now you can see:
the hard disk capacity
the actually used space
the actually free space

6.) Supports Planetensuche multi processor (alternatively multi-core processors) / or 64 Bit systems?
Planetensuche is hardware and operating system independent, because of this it can't be optimized for selected processors. A support for 64-Bit operating systems are automatic by the local installed Java Virtual Machine (JVM), there are for 32 and 64-Bit operating systems. But the speed between this are very low.
For functions into Planetensuche, where it is to make sense, data were to handle from multiple threads (or cores) or other optimized things.

7.) Which catalogues are by default complete into Planetensuche database?
Palomar (15 globular star clusters)
Dolidze-Dzimselejsvili (11 open star clusters)
Stock (24 open star clusters)
Haffner (26 open star clusters)
Messier (110 different objects)
Zakhozhaj (356 stars with in 33 ly around the sun)
8pc (catalog with 167 stars in 8 pc around the sun)
BSC / HR (catalog with 9110 bright stars)
FK5 part 1+2 and FK6 (combined 5693 stars)

A overview about all other (only as a part of them) catalogues can you find in database module under menu “specials”.

8.) Can I filter the objects into the categories / catalogues?
The objects into a category can filtered by different criteria in database module. For this please click on menu database – filter and select the category for filtering. After this you can configure the criteria (for example show only objects with pictures) and with click on apply the filter is activated. Now you can selected the category in database module for see this effect.
Objects into catalogues can not filtered in current version.
