Installation / Uninstallation

This instruction to assume, that Java is already installed on your computer. If you don't have installed Java, please download the actually JRE (Java SE Runtime Environment) from http://www.java.com. Planetensuche needs at least a JRE 1.8.0_64 (JRE 8 with update 64)! If you don't know whether Java is installed or which version is installed on your computer, do this under Windows:

Click on „Start“ (under Vista on the Windows logo), then on „Run…“. Type „cmd“ into and press Enter. Now a window shows where you can type into „java –version“. If the is command unknown, you haven't installed a JRE. In other case the current installed java version is shown.

1. The program mustn't be installed. Unzip the ZIP-file into a directory, where you like to run Planetensuche (for example C:\Programs\Planetensuche) from. Under Linux you can type "unzip Planetensuche.zip" into the console and set the access rights with "chmod -R 700" for the Planetensuche folder.

Attention!
Only under Vista the program must run under C:\User\your loginname\, because you have only into your home folder all needed access rights.

2. Run under Windows the „windows-install.bat“ (or double clicked on planetensuche.jar) to configuration the main settings. Please use under Linux/Unix the „linux-install.sh“ file. If you have an another operating system (for example Mac OS), you can run the „planetensuche.jar“ file with „java –jar planetensuche.jar“ command.

3. If you have make all settings successfully this program guide is shown and you can now used Planetensuche. In future you can open Planetensuche with the „windows-start.bat“ (or double clicked on planetensuche.jar) or under Linux with the „linux-start.sh“ file. Under other operating systems you must start the "planetensuche.jar“ with “java -jar planetensuche.jar” manually.

4. Planetensuche don't modify your operating system, because of this an uninstalling is not needed! If you like to remove the program, you must only delete the folder, in which you have unzipped Planetensuche (for example C:\Programs\Planetensuche).
